
COMPREHESIVE EXAMINATION FOR WOMEN UNDER 40 YEARS
- General physical examination to include:
- Gynecologist and family physician consultation
- Blood laboratory studies to include:
- Complete Blood Count (check for anemia, infection, clotting cells)
- Glucose (screen for diabetes)
- Complete Lipid Profile (complete cholesterol and triglyceride panel)
- HIV (screen for AIDS virus)
- VDRL (Syphilis)
- TSH (screen for thyroid disease)
- ßHCG (pregnancy test)
- Urine laboratory studies:
- Routine and microscopic analysis of urine for blood, infection, diabetes, kidney disease
- Vaginal examination to include:
- Routine pelvic examination (Visual and manual inspection of vagina and cervix)
- Vaginal wet preparation for:
- Epithelium
- White blood cells
- Bacteria (Gardnerella, Gonococcus, and other species)
- Yeast (Candida albicans)
- Trichomonas
- PCR test for Ureaplasma urealyticum
- PCR test for Chlamydia trachomatis
- Pap smear (screen for cervical cancer)
- HPV high oncogenic risk
- Abdominal ultrasound examination
- Pelvic ultrasound (including transvaginal study)
- Thyroid ultrasound
- Colposcopy
- CXR PA
- Follow-up conclusion and recommendations
